Part Two: Reflections
1) What was the biggest challenge for you in OBDF 310?
I think the biggest challenge was wrapping my head around the logic of Grasshopper, things seemed to make sense in class then when I went home I was often confused and needed to go over everything multiple times to make sense of it. I think it will make more sense with more practice!
2) What was your greatest success in OBDF 310?
Learning to use the parametric functions in GH and then to translate those into physical objects. I especially like the results of my slip-cast vessels. Of course I think I would really have enjoyed the 3D printed clay objects we would have come up with and I hope we can get a chance in the future to give it a shot!
3) How might you use any of the tools/processes from this semester in future projects?
I think I will use GH and Rhino in my work especially if I am working on an object that my require many adjustments, it would be great to have some of the variables on sliders so that I can make small adjustments without having to damage the original model or start over again.
I would like to continue to use the software and technology to create more artwork (we need more OBDF classes!!!) and I will continue to use it to model iterations of objects.
Maybe I will try to design some more jewelry and have a store on shapeways :D
Its been a really great class and seriously we need more OBDF classes!...and a way to get access to the CNC!!! ☺
