Ok so for my one hour model I attempted to create a nest-like object. I was thinking of it as a nest inspired chair that you could suspend somehow and then crawl inside and take a nap, I may just be sleepy, but I was thinking how nice it would be to sleep outside but still have some sunshine come through, a good place to read really ☺
I started modeling the original shape in Rhino then bent it around a circle. From there I used the rotate 3D and some randomizing to get a more sporadic placement of each 'stick', I then used rotate 3D again on the result to get an overlapping effect where the sticks revolved around the Z and X axis.
Once I had my nest of sticks I used an extruded ellipse in Rhino to create the opening, then used a surface command to patch the cut sections and filleted the edges.
